Beger chosen as new CPME Secretary General
Birgit Beger has been chosen as the new Secretary General of the Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME), succeeding Lisette Tiddens-Engwirda.

The CPME aims to promote the highest standards of medical training and medical practice in order to achieve the highest quality of health care for all patients in Europe. It represents the National Medical Associations of 27 countries in Europe and works closely with the National Medical Associations of countries that have applied for EU membership as well as specialised European medical associations.

Beger is a registered lawyer and holds Law and Political Science degrees from the FU Berlin. She was previously Senior Legal Adviser at the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) responsible inter alia for Information Technology Law and European Contract Law.
