CIAA, the Confederation of Food and Drink Industries of the European Union, has appointed Dirk Jacobs as Manager Consumer Information, Diet and Health. He replaces Elena Cogalniceanu, who had held the post for almost four years.

Prior to joining CIAA, Jacobs worked as a public affairs and strategic communications consultant for PA Europe in Brussels and The Hague, among others for a wide range of clients in the agri-food industry.

Having studied in Maastricht, Milan and Brussels, Jacobs has a background in international and European business.
