Plaid Cymru MEP Jill Evans from Wales has been elected President of the European Free Alliance (EFA) Group in the European Parliament. The parliamentary grouping includes MEPs from Plaid Cymru, the Scottish National Party, Flanders, Catalonia, Corsica, and Latvia.

Jill Evans has been an MEP since 1999 and is the Vice President of Plaid Cymru - The Party of Wales. She is a long standing member of the European Parliament's Environment Committee and is a member of the delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Counci

Vice Presidents of the EFA Group are Ian Hudghton MEP from the Scottish National Party and Frieda Brepoels MEP from the Flemish Party, N-VA. The EFA Group was formed in 1999 and draws together MEPs from stateless nations and historic regions and minorities. The EFA sits in a common parliamentary grouping in the European Parliament with the Greens.
