Jean-Charles de Cordes joins EurActiv as EU Project Director where he will be responsible for developing and implementing EU projects on behalf of public sector clients such as the European Commission, European Parliament and the other EU institutions as well as research institutes and academia. Prior to EurActiv, Jean-Charles was Head of Unit within the Directorate General Human Rights and Legal Affairs (Council of Europe) in Strasbourg . He has spent seven years at the Council of Europe starting as a political adviser and then in charge of technical cooperation projects (with a special emphasis on South-eastern Europe ). Before, he worked in the United Nations (UNDP Office in Brussels , Eastern Europe and Africa) and in a consulting firm in Brussels . Jean-Charles holds a law degree and a master degree in political sciences/international relations from the Catholic University of Louvain ( Belgium ).
