01.04.2008The European Parliament launches a Prize for Journalism this year, which will be awarded to European journalists whose work has helped citizens to better understand the institutions and policies of the European Union. The Prize will be awarded in four separate categories press, television, radio and internet.
The European Parliament launches a Prize for Journalism this year, which will be awarded to European journalists whose work has helped citizens to better understand the institutions and policies of the European Union. The Prize will be awarded in four separate categories press, television, radio and internet. Journalists must be residents of the EU and have had their submitted work published or broadcast between 1st May 2007 and 30th April 2008. The Prize will recognise journalists whose work has contributed to the improvement of communication between the European institutions and the citizens of the EU. A prize fund of €20,000 will be divided equally between the winners in each category. The first awards will be made in October 2008. From next year onwards, the Prize will be awarded in May. For the first edition of the European Parliament Prize for Journalism, proposals can be submitted between 15 March and 15 May 2008.
