The annual summer festival of the representation of the Land of Saxony-Anhalt was inaugurated this year with the opening of the new Centre of the Regions Boulevard St Michel. On the premises of the former GDR Embassy, this centre will host representations of several regions as well as a business pool. The official opening did not only see speeches by the prime minister of Saxony-Anhalt and Commissioner Spidla but also show elements with live music and dance. Local cuisine from the region was served to an illustruous crowd that enjoyed one of the last nights of this summer in the garden of the completely refurbished complex.
