His Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana and all Albania, stressed the common values held by all citizens of European countries, and the role that the church plays in establishing and developing such values. The Conference of European Churches held a conference in Brussels on the 12th and 13 of December. The theme of the conference was "Values-Religion-Identity", and the leaders aim was to agree on an open letter to European political leaders. The open letter shares the concerns and hopes of European churches for the future of Europe and their role within it.
