Between the twelfth and sixteenth century, illuminators, painters, sculptors, goldsmiths, musicians…, all from a region that is not called yet Wallonia, participated in shaping a culture of radiation European. The masterpieces Patenier, Blès, Campin, Du Broeucq or Hugo of Oignies… from museum collections known or hidden, draw a portrait of this region free mingling popular beliefs and stories familiar to evoke different approaches life. Through more than 140 outstanding works, Laurent Busine, curator of the exhibition, book a singular vision, personal, a Wallonia whose vivid picture emerges of both ancient pieces that contemporary participations (Barry Francis, Godart, Paparella , Streuli, Vergara).
